"Come Home To Weathersfield"

The Weathersfield Township Trustees, Fiscal Officer, and employees would like to congratulate Gil Blair on his appointment to the Ohio State House.  Gil worked tirelessly for the residents of our community and he will be greatly missed.  We know he will continue to be an advocate for our community in Columbus and we wish the best in his new role as a state representative.

Weathersfield Township is a community of 9,430 people located in the southern portion of Trumbull County, bordering Mahoning County. Located in the center of the Mahoning Valley, Weathersfield Township is surrounded by the cities of Niles, Girard and Youngstown, the Villages of Lordstown and McDonald and the Townships of Howland, Vienna, Liberty, Austintown, Jackson and Warren. In addition, Weathersfield Township is within the jurisdiction of the Niles Municipal Court, along with the Village of McDonald and the City of Niles.

In 1974, the people of Weathersfield Township successfully petitioned to have the Township separated from the cities of Niles and Girard. In 1980, the Village of McDonald separated from the Township. Numerous annexations have further reduced the territory of Weathersfield Township to its present size, leaving a community divided geographically into several distinct neighborhoods.

As a result, Weathersfield Township has developed into "A Community of Neighborhoods" each with its own unique features.
